Sue Mackenzie’s recent Rotary talks
I did a presentation to Nambour Rotary Club in Queensland in June 2019. We were very fortunate to receive a $1,000 donation from Rotary Club Nambour as a result, for Polio Australia. I was also given the pleasure of meeting Sir Clem Renouf. Sir Clem Renouf was the founder of Nambour Rotary over 60 years ago. I was fortunate enough to meet his son, Noel, who then initiated my meeting with Sir Clem Renouf. AM. (Rotary International President 1978 – 1979). The World and Rotary owe Sir Clem Renouf a debt. Sir Clem was instumental in initiating selling the 3H Program – Health, Hunger and Humanity to WHO and UNICEF and The Birth of Polio Plus. A World Without Polio – Truely Remarkable.
A fellow polio survivor, Jan Williams and I, also attended the Rotary Club of New Farm President Change-Over night held at Queensland Parliament House on 3rd July 2019. We were very fortunate to receive a $1,000 donation from Rotary Club of New Farm for Polio Australia. The funds were raised from a Gatsby Evening and various BBQ’s run by New Farm Rotary. There were 5 other local charities who were also recipients of donations from NFR that evening.
