Rachel Ingram (Health Promotions Officer), Maryann Liethof (National Program Manager) and Gary Newton (Independent Board Member and Polio Survivor) met with the The Hon Jane Prentice at Treasury Gardens in Melbourne on Friday 9th February. Jane is the Assistant Minister for Social Services and Disability Services.

During this meeting, we discussed a range of issues which impact polio survivors in Australia including:

• Problems accessing assistive technology through the NDIS, for those polio survivors under 65 years.
• The phasing out of mobility allowance for those ineligible for the NDIS.
• Strategies to identify younger polio survivors in Australia.
